Australia's Solar Energy market is undergoing a slow down in growth, but Bayly's Solar Panel Mounting system is helping Lock Solar capitalise on growth in the US and UK markets.
Lock Solar's owners have a history installing Solar Panel systems in homes and businesses up and down Australia’s East Coast. Having identified a need for a proprietary Solar Panel mounting system, Lock Solar engaged Bayly to design and engineer a mounting system that would reduce installation time, simplify supply logistics and improve the margins in their associated businesses. Lock Solar's mounting system is based on a relatively common two rail structure manufactured from high strength and corrosion resistant aluminium alloy. The mounting brackets and interconnecting components are machined from other custom designed extruded aluminium sections. The mounting system is expandable to suit as many panels as required. A tilt system has been designed to suit flat roof installations. The Lock Solar system, Rack in a Box™, is patent pending and has been specifically designed to suit the harsh Australian climate. The structural design and validation has been undertaken to AS 1100 wind loading requirements. Bayly has provided Lock Solar with installation manuals for the mounting systems as well as images and information for marketing purposes. The components of the system are manufactured in Asia. Bayly was involved in the commissioning of the tooling and has provided technical support throughout the setup of the manufacturing and continues to provide support in production. Lock Solar are shipping systems to the UK and USA as demand in those countries continues to increase.
